AUDIO | Arlene Last-Kolb lost her son Jessie on July 18th 2014 to an opioid overdose. Arlene lives and works in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and she’s been an active and visible advocate for changes and improvements in that province’s responses to the opioid crisis. She recently wrote a public letter to the Manitoba premier, challenging him to “meet with those who use…and families who have lost loved ones. Ask them yourself what we need.” Arlene is growing frustrated with meetings and committees…and she expects and is demanding more action from government in response to the addiction and overdose crises.
