Kiffer Card is the Scientific Director for the Institute for Social Connection and an Assistant Professor at Simon Fraser University.
He’s seen evidence in his research that burnout and social isolation could be linked.
He’s also found that people with hybrid work setups report significantly better mental health than either those who exclusively work from home or the office.
Burnout is listed on the World Health Organization’s International Classification of Diseases as an occupational phenomenon.
The WHO conceptualizes burnout as “resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed”.
Kiffer Card spoke with People First Radio about burnout, work, and social isolation.
