“Thank you to the 120 100+ Women Who Care Mid-Island members for their generosity and commitment to our community!” — VIMHS staff and board of directors

The 100+ Women Who Care Mid-Island is a group of women who care about their communities and want to make an impact. Four times a year, its members meet for one hour “to learn about the great work being done by three local registered charities based in Ladysmith, Nanaimo, Lantzville, communities in between, and Gabriola Island.” By secret ballot, group members vote for one of the three charities, and the one with the most votes gets a $100 dollar cheque from each of the group’s members. The organization donates over $10,000 to a chosen charity at each meeting. Since June 8, 2016 the Mid-island group has donated over $177,400 to local charities.
The staff and board of directors at Vancouver Island Mental Health Society extends its gratitude for this generous gift. The funds will be used for programs and activities that directly benefit the residents in VIMHS housing.
